Poddutur Municipal Chairman Election Postponed Again Due To TDP’s Continued Rowdyism
Utter chaos prevailed in Poddutur on Sunday during municipal chairman election which was postponed for the second time after TDP councilors resorted to blatant rowdyism in the fear of being defeated.
The election which was to be held on Saturday was disrupted by the ruling party councilors by resorting to ruckus in the hall. The election officials remained mute witnesses to the blatant goondaism by the TDP councilors and their followers when the election was about to be held on Sunday.
TDP men showed their muscle power not only the furniture in the hall but they almost physycally assaulted YSRCP councilors. They threatened YSRCP councilor Muktiyar to withdraw from fray for the post of Poddutur municipal chairman.
In protest against the anarchy by the TDP councillors, Poddutur MLA Rachamallu Prasad Reddy threatened to resign for the Assembly if the election was not held. Terming the TDP's ruckus, YSRCP MLA said the government brutally murdered democracy and all this happened at the behest of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his son Lokesh.
