Why the hell we like junk foods?
In spite of telling so many times to our brains, still we like junk foods and we carve for the one to eat. Have you ever thought the reason why your brain calls for eating such foods? Even though our rational conscious mind says that they are unhealthy and bad but our brain seems to disagree. Our brain is designed with a system called reward system, this likely reward us to do things that encourage our survival. So when we eat, our brains know when we eat and release a bunch of good feel chemicals such as neurotransmitter dopamine.
The modern junks like pizza, burger and a bag of chips can create a way more powerful reward than anything else that we are exposed and this is why our brain makes us to crave to eat such foods. Whereas eating an apple or oats or anything that is healthy cause a moderate release of dopamine.
This is why the cravings start to dominate your attention. It is of no harm, do many people get this but if you find yourself repeatedly giving up to carvings and eating junk despite having made a decision of not to then it is not a normal condition. Your food addiction can make your consumption to hide from others leading to depression and severely broken self esteem.
So you need to care of yourself as there are no medical treatments or supplements for food addiction. You alone should know to control your emotion over your consumption.
